In Your Eyes

Valentines

I know I said I wasn't coming back for a few more days, but I couldn't let Valentine's Day come and not mention it!!!  So Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

So what's been going on with me?  Well, honestly, the flu has struck my home...again.  The kids have both been sick going on two weeks now, and you know what that means???  Yep, I'm getting it again.  BOO!  So that's not entirely positive.  As for me, I have been fighting this sick and I don't know...maybe I just need to be patient and drink a little more water.  Depending on what kind of virus truck hits me in the next day or two, I might need another week off...but don't worry, we will still celebrate my bloggiversary this weekend.  I will let you know then if I indeed have the plague or not.  And don't think the kidney stones are done...that's a whole other story...

Other than that...I've been working.  Kind of a lot (it feels like anyway) and I finally started eating better.  I mean, come on...Fat Tuesday was yesterday.  Was I not supposed to eat a Paczki?  Please.  The bakery by my house makes them with butter cream frosting.  So yes, that means its like a giant donut rolled in powdered sugar and filled with amazing frosting.  Because personally, the cake is nothing but a plate that holds the frosting for me.  I always save the frosting for last.  Cake is good, but it isn't frosting.  So yeah...there is no way in hell I am passing up a donut filled with frosting.  Ever.  I've also become completely addicted to iced coffee.  I know its cold out.  That's the only way I can drink it...and I can't just let my coffee get cold...nope.  It has to start hot and only get cold by the ice cubes the add to it.  I don't understand.  I can't have it any other way.  Oh well.

Oh yeah...and The Walking Dead FINALLY came back!  The problem?  I had to work that night and my bitch of a DVR didn't record it.  Lucky for me, AMC reruns everything, so I reset the DVR and my break at work was timed perfectly and I was able to watch it before the sun came up!  Nothing bothered me the rest of that day!

So, I am gonna leave you all with a drink recipe, because this qualifies as Thirsty Thursday, right?

Tickled Pink Bubbly

Ingredients
1 cup(s) ginger ale or Champagne

 Maraschino cherries

So Happy Valentine's Day - spread some love today.  I hope you all miss me, because I miss you!!

And now some love Zen!

  1. It's nice to see you back Mel, although it's not so nice you're sick. I tried making ice coffee myself once and it didn't go well. It seems like you have to make regular coffee and then leave it in the fridge overnight. It didn't taste too bad, but the beaker I was putting it in was ruined.

  4. Altho I don't drink iced coffee in the winter (it's cold enough thank you very much) I love it in the summer, especially with a little Kahlua. Heck, what am I saying, I like a little Kahlua in my coffee anytime!

Nice to see you, Mel and I hope that bug doesn't take hold and you're are feeling a million times better asap!

    1. See, I drink the coffee when I get to work... because I'm always too hot when I'm at work...it is impossible to just keep the temperature at an even comfortable level!

And thanks ..hoping to knock this sick out over the weekend!

  8. I'm a little behind, so I hope you "had" a great Valentine's Day. We had concert tickets (coincidentally) so went out, just the two of us, which was nice.

Hope you're feeling better SOON! and BTW I love iced coffee, had one today – mind you it's HOT over here!
