Thirsty Thursday - What's the story, morning glory?

Ok.  The good news is I don't have to work ALL night.  The bad news is that I am going in 4 hours early...and did so yesterday...and my sleep the past few days has left something to be desired...because of the stones.  And then earlier today, before I tried to nap, I had every intention of going online, maybe reading some blogs or something, when my head exploded into a ridiculous migraine.  So yeah.  All kinds of rest.  Please forgive my absence.

Anyway...I've got a couple of minutes now that I am writing this post and having a glass of Coke (whatever, I know its bad for me, but there is caffeine in it and it helps my headaches) and I just threw dinner together for my family and then I have got to get in the shower.

I'm so sleepy.  And dizzy right now.

I need to awaken.  Fingers crossed that it happens before I have to leave.

So, cocktail.  This one would be totally night right now (except for the egg....no thank you), but there's the alcohol factor.  Maybe if my head isn't raging when I get home from work around 4am...oh I hope I can sleep then...and I hope I get a break tonight....I didn't last night.

So here's your drink..I need a little time to wake up...

Morning Glory Fizz

Ingredients
1½ oz Johnnie Walker Red Label Scotch (dammit if all we have is Blue...)
 ¾ oz fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  ¾ oz Simple Syrup
¾ oz egg white - pasteurized
Splash of soda water
 Garnish: Lemon peel disk

Directions
Combine Scotch, lemon juice, simple syrup and egg white in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice. Shake vigorously.  Fill chilled serving glass with fresh ice.
Add splash of soda then strain drink into glass.
Garnish

Ok...I gotta get ready for work so I can answer the phone for people that save lives!

SHIT!  I forgot the moment of Zen...how about  you all take a nap and think of me?  Cool.

  1. Yeah you really need some sleep and some good old fashioned R and R. I think it's been more than earned too so take it when you can get it. I really hope you feel better soon and that work isn't too bad.

  2. Not sure I'd like that early in the morning, nice to see a bit of BritPop at this hour! Oasis, were a great but arrogant band!

  4. You have my sympathies. Migraines are THE WORST. Period. I'd suffered with them since childhood, but then they very suddenly went away when I hit menopause. So there's always hope. Take care.
